Sgwarnog: In the Field

Last?

in july
november butterfly

Nine months to the day since I'd seen my first butterfly of the year, will this be the last?

Both are Small Tortoiseshells, and both were in the same spot: Hallcliffe Community Garden. Even when the air temperature is quite cool, this sheltered garden provides some sun traps, the sun warmed gravel paths between the well stocked beds being a favoured spot.

I was hoping a short stroll in the sunshine would help my cold, which has kept me back from work today, but I think there's still some way to go there.
