Mellow Yellow

The local Council is replacing all the old sodium vapour street lamps with new LED ones which are supposed to use less electricity and cause less light pollution. To me, they're far too bright - they could have saved more juice and cause less pollution if they'd turned the wick down a bit. But that's by the way - this is progress, like it or not.

Soon all the old lamps will be gone, and with them a slice of my youth, which will only remain in memories (possibly) and in photographs.
