All things nice!!!!

Tomorrow is Mums 81st birthday so I went over to visit her and sis today. As usual we took her out to lunch, but decided a more special treat was in order as tomorrow is her birthday. We drove to Marple to a lovely little bistro/deli that make all their own breads, cakes and food that is served for lunch.

Me and sis had corned beef hash cake with a soft poached egg on top and mum had multi seeded brown bread with chicken bacon and mayo, all served with dressed side salad and homemade coleslaw and washed down with copious cups of tea!

Afterwards we all stared through the glass display cabinets at their gorgeous cakes and other produce, like kids in a sweet shop!! Their Ecclescakes are to die for.......pretty expensive but for the size and how jam packed full of currants they are, worth every penny! Mum also treated herself to a rather large slice of homemade bakewell tart as well as 3 ecclescakes! She might be getting on in years but there is nothing wrong with her appetite!

Me and sis also bought ecclescakes and sis boought some manuka honey for her dog too (thats a whole other story!)

Mum is going to my sis's tomorrow for her tea and will dog sit whilst they go to the Ethiad Stadium to watch Manchester City play in the Champions League.
Although the dog is 10, he is still frightened by fireworks and will no doubt be trying to dig his way out in the corner of the lounge, whilst fretting, as he usually does! Mum will be able to pacify him a little so that will be better than him being home alone!

All things nice is the name of the little bistro by the way!
