Kicking leaves

Even at my age a walk in the woods in autumn can give very simple pleasures. It was a colder day today, but the rain held off in the Chilterns and the woods were glorious - beautiful colours, fascinating fungi and squelchy mud in places. The best thing by far was the deep leaf litter gathered in ancient sunken tracks and boundary ditches - just asking to be kicked.
