Farewell

Up at 5 and off to the airport then picked up the car and drove to meet T. We stopped at a depressing Harvester for what turned out to be a horrid shepherd's pie, but I was really hungry.
Round the corner to the crematorium. The weather was filthy but there was a lot of warmth indoors-standing room only and a tangible feeling of support for her two teenage sons from all her friends in the room.
Afterwards there was that awkward time, standing around in a yard with other people's flowers and the feeling of being on a conveyor belt of funerals...
Enjoyed chatting to her other friends and colleagues later at the Uni, then T and I met R at King's Cross for dinner before I checked into the hotel. What a day...
