Most Amazing Day

We went up to Vancouver BC to visit Larry and his family. He has been our guest during the Bellingham Festival of Music the last few years and we've come to know his family too. Really sweet folks. Larry is principal trumpet of the Vancouver Symphony.

Anyhow we went up to see the international fireworks contest that happens every year in Vancouver. We all went down to the beach and joined the crowd. Gradually clouds moved in and it began to rain. We almost went home but decided to stay. Good thing we did. As the sun began to set the colors deepened into one of the best sunsets I've ever experienced. The rain continued and soon there was thunder and lightning too. And then the fireworks began and for awhile we had both nature's fireworks and man's going on at the same time. It was an amazing sight. The manmade fireworks outlasted those of the storm and we were treated to a great show by the Chinese team. What a thrilling day it was.
