After the fire

Last night there was a fire at Brooks Restaurant in Oswestry. It was started by a tumble drier in the basement and spread to the rest of the building. There were no customers in and the staff all got out safely. It took eight fire engines to put it out.

This morning the road was closed and a fire engine there (the building is the brown one by the traffic light). There was no damage visible so hopefully the structure will be o.k. When I got home I read that the road was closed because of fears of a gas explosion due to cannisters in the building and the street was evacuated. As they were letting pedestrians down the road when I was in town I assume that it was safe!

As yesterday was Bonfire Night it was a sadly appropriate night for a fire.
