Kat in parliament debating chamber

A Kat has been found in the debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament. Here she is, on the left, alongside Elizabeth the Austrian assistant to David Torrance MSP.

Kat is my niece and also a senior pupil studying Advanced Highers with the hope of moving on to study French and Politics at the University of Edinburgh. It was her request to spend a day on the inside of parliament, which she duly did, attending a committee, FMQs, discussing issues with David Torrance and so forth.

Elizabeth, by coincidence, is an intern studying International Relations at the University of Edinburgh, and was a charming and helpful aid throughout.
