Sunrise on the Ganges

Taking a boat at 5:30am to catch sunrise on the Ganges was magical. Watching the people wash themselves and clothes, while the first glimpses of sunlight appeared on the horizon giving the holy ghats along the river a lovely orange colour. At two of the ghats bodies are cremated and ashes spread into the river.
