Trish and the People's Portrait

This is my mentor and teacher Trish Harding standing in front of the People's Portrait. The event is the opening of Ship of Fools, a politically oriented annual art show at the Blue Horse Gallery in Bellingham. (Note: that gallery closed in 2012.) Trish contributed quite a bit to the final result of this painting. It hung outside her studio with oil sticks in a box and anybody who wanted to add to it could. This happened over a three month period. While the painting was in progress I documented the changes with my camera. The photos on the right show some of the stages it went through.
