Eco-warriors at work

A local ex-mining village is undergoing regeneration. This process involves building a considerable amount of new housing. The developers plans included planting trees and providing "breathing spaces", their proposals were illustrated with leafy avenues and pleasant vistas. So far, their environmental awareness has included building on every piece of green space they can find and the destruction of several hundred metres of mature hedgerow - happy days.
