In a flap

A beautiful morning so we had to make the most of it so we went to Loch Kinellan in Strathpeffer after breakfast at the garden centre as everywhere else was shut.
Plenty of golden eye ducks swimming together and this lovely cygnet having a bath.
We walked down past the house which is an ideal position next to the Loch.
Reed buntings flew among the bull rushes, yellow hammers flew into a tree, fieldfares were feeding on the berries , robins were singing and wrens chattering, wonderful. We had to wait for the farmer to load his car with cattle before we could leave. We could hear him yelling at one of his dogs that was running all over the place , a young collie I think :)

We drove back past the Neil Gunn memorial ,red kites and buzzards took off as we past and a tree was full of rooks. Some lovely old buildings were well lit by the low light.

The day ended watching the brilliant fireworks at Rosemarkie. I have never seen so many cars , they were everywhere and there was gridlock at one point when cars in both directions could nt move. There must have been about 40 cars stuck not going anywhere.
