Remembrance Day

This shows a picture of my grandparents on their wedding day 21-8-1917. He fought in the trenches in France and was a skilled craftsman. He made this box from numerous components found in the battlefield, including parts of shell cases, cartridge box, old German lantern etc. On the top is a secret opening device which has to be lined up to spell FLIP, my nanna's pet name. Inside there are detailed drawings explaining what it is made of. Naturally is a family treasure that came to me from my mother and will continue to pass on to the next generation.
