Tributes

Amongst the many tributes in many parts of the world today the one we chose to attend was on the West Pennine Moors. A simple service, with the last post played and the singing of Abide with me was attended by members of the Bolton Mountain Rescue team and groups of local walkers/runners and cyclists along with a member of the family of one of the crew who brought along this Australian flag. The memorial is to the Austrailian crew of a Wellington bomber which crashed probably due to the icy conditions on a night in November 1943.
