remembrance service

A century after World War One began, hundreds of people attended the final remembrance service at the lifeboathouse, which will soon be demolished.
Led by Rev Rosie Coles and Alan Courtney, it featured readings by deputy mayor Joe Plant and poet Tom Ward.
The traditional maroons marking the beginning and end of the two-minute silence have now been replaced by two loud firework explosions.
