We both agreed that we should do this more often.

Neighbors (the ones who went to Kenya over Christmas, whose yard we kept shoveled) bought us tickets for MacBeth at the Guthrie Theatre to say thank you.

I see the new building from across the river every now and then, looming like some dark, menacing factory. This was the first time I saw it street side and up close, which is when it takes your breath away; monstrous, towering and clad in the most beautiful deep blue.

The production is a tight, lean, contemporary and fast moving adaptation of the play that takes creative liberties with the set and costuming but stays true to the words of Shakespeare and the violent story line. What a jerk that MacBeth was.
