How Vintage! (2014.314)

This car won Car of the Year in 1982, a fact proudly displayed on promotional material lying on the rear shelf.

This 1983 example looks in superb condition, given its innate Frenchness.

The TLE must have been rare, given that not a huge amount of information exists on it online, and it's excluded from the model list on Wikipedia. Most likely it's a variant of the 1.4 litre petrol "TL" car, with different equipment. It has a 5 speed gearbox, which was reasonably unusual for a car of the era. In fact, much of the information I've gleaned about the model has come from what looks like the owner's Flickr photostream!

According to "HowManyLeft," only three are licensed for use on the road, with a further three declared as "SORN" (Statutory Off-Road Notification).

Anyway, we have such a disposable attitude to cars these days, it's nice to see something running that's 30 years old.
