Temperature inversion from Causey Pike

As the forecast showed rain spreading across the region through the latter part of the morning, I thought an early walk was the order of the day. I parked along Newlands Valley and walked up Causey Pike (my 35th Wainwright) Halfway up, I could see over Catbells and Maiden Moor to the Helvellyn range, and could see this incredible cloud formation sliding over the mountains - oh to be over there - but I had to make do with this distant photograph!
