Placed at the Salisbury War Memorial. 22697 Pte Ernest Marsh, 6th Batt Wiltshire Regiment. Killed in action 22/08/1916 in Flanders, aged 24. Buried at Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium.

Ernest was a farm labourer when he volunteered from Imber village, on Salisbury Plain. Son of Edward and Clara Marsh, 4 Eastview, Imber.
His parents were sent his Victory and British War Medal.

Imber is now in the hands of the army as a training base, only the church remains.
