Here's to remembering

At 11 o'clock my parents and I assisted the remembrance ceremony in our village. Every village in France gathers at 11 at their memorial (every village in France has a similar memorial) and the mayor gives the same speech, which I think is great. Gives you a feel of unity, knowing that so many people are doing and hearing the same thing at the same time. Is was POURING with rain and still people showed, thankfully.
The children of the school brought candles (or tried to what with the rain pelting down) and sang the national anthem.
Allons enfants de la patrie...!
