New day - new beginnings

Rush hour

It's rather funny, since we live in a rather small town (around 18.000 inhabitants), but it's probably everywhere the same. More traffic around 8 o'clock in the morning and 4 o'clock in the afternoon, when a lot of people are going to and from school and work. This particular intersection can be rather frustrating, especially if you're coming from West and heading North, but luckily I was heading East so I had no problems. Anyway, those traffic lights are old, and have to be replaced soon. I don't know if it shows well enough in the photo, but here in Akureyri, all the red traffic lights are shaped like a heart. It was something that started in 2008, in a connection with a yearly family festival "Ein með öllu" and has continued ever since. I think it's so cozy :)
