Canal Barges

Beautiful day today.

Had a nice walk along a small section of the Antonine Wall in the Twechar area. The Wall was built by the Romans around AD 142. It stretches for about 63KM and was about 3m high and 5M wide. It was protected by 16 forts. Most of the wall and its associated fortifications have been destroyed over time, but a good number of the remains can still be seen along its course.

I ended up just using a picture of a couple of Barges on the Canal which is also in this area.

Footnote: Just heard the news about the Red Road Flats. It appears that at around 8:30 this morning 3 people (asylum seekers) jumped to their death from the 15th Floor. I almost went there today but will now stay away for a few days while the investigations are ongoing.
