Life through the lens...

By ValC

I seen 'ee.

You may not have heard of the Iceni tribe, but I'm sure most have heard of their Queen Boudica ( Boadicea).
The Warrior Queen who fought the might of Rome.
A bronze Statue of her riding in her chariot stands on the Thames embankment, next to the Houses of Parliament.

Here you can see MrC standing on top of one of the large curving banks at the site. It is the best preserved Iron Age Fort in East Anglia, known as Warham Camp.
This circular enclosure was built over 2000 years ago by the local Iceni tribe.
Fragments of pottery found here have been dated to between 200BC and the 1st Century AD.
An amazing site.

Lunch was again at Pie and Pub Pub, The Three Horseshoes in Warham.
This time it was a huge bowl of vegetable soup ( best I have tasted) followed by a very traditional Golden syrup sponge pud. with a jug of custard! So Yummy!

We had a four mile walk afterwards from Wells-next-the sea to Holkham.
To walk off all that food!

Now back home for a well earned cup of tea and biscuits!
Weather again beautiful!

Many thanks for all your nice comments, stars and hearts, for my sunset yesterday.
