Fiary ring

A wonderful old tree and a ring of crocuses lifted my spirits today. I'd been to a talk as part of Glasgow's Aye Right literary festival - Paul Preston on his latest book about the Spanish Civil War. Bought the book and prepared to remind myself of the atrocities that were committed and how they were communicated by the world's writers and journalists.

So it was nice to walk out into spring sunshine and find this tree with its fairy ring around it! The tree is in the garden of Craigie Hall, a Victorian House in Glasgow which has been embellished by Charles Rennie McIntosh. The house which is empty is now on the market at offers over £950,000.....and I thought I'd sneak a look.
