An Image a Day

Remembrance III

The third and last of my Remembrance images marking the centenary of the start of WWI. After dropping the car off at the garage I cycled up to Ecclesmachan , a village in the Bathgate hills where I knew there was some WWI graves in the church cemetery there. Most of the graves are for soldiers who died in Bangour Hospital which was nearby and was built to nurse the wounded back to health. About 20 or so graves are here including a young lad named Nicol who was only 16 when he died in 1916
