Kirkcaldy SNP branch meeting

This was the scene with about 5 minutes before the local branch meeting was due to start. The queue was still stretching into the lounge bar area, so the start was delayed allowing everyone to register.

Such are the number of members in the branch, our ever efficient secretary had set up online registration using Eventbrite to enable the branch to plan for the likely number attending. Even more turned up than had registered.

This is a very strange experience for someone used to attending branch meetings where everyone could sit around a table. On a miserable winter's evening, it was a lively and efficiently run meeting, with people keen to start planning for next year's General Election.

It is a wonderful thing for democracy that so many people are engaging in politics.
