School remembrance

A wreath laid beside an honours board from a small grammar school, now closed. There were perhaps two hundred boys at the school at this time, so these names represent a considerable percentage of those who had attended.
We were invited to attend the Remembrance service at the comprehensive school which replaced the grammar school. It was interesting to hear young people reading poems and tributes to those who died long before they were born. The two minutes silence was just that, not a cough nor a movement among the assembled schoolchildren.
