Miami Vultures

A last view while waiting for the taxi to the airport - a turkey vulture thermalling up into the flawless blue skies.

It's been a great few weeks over here and the fish and wildlife of Florida and the Keys has been amazing.

Off the top of my head:

Fish (caught)

Crevalle Jack
Yellow Jack
Blue Runner
Mutton Snapper
Red Snapper
Schoolmaster Snapper
Mangrove Snapper
Hog Snapper
Yellowtail Snapper
Needlefish
Barracuda
Lizardfish
French Angelfish
Blue Tang
Bermuda Chub
Hardhead Catfish
King Mackerel
Redfish
Black Drum
Rainbow Parrotfish
Bluestripe Grunt
Smallmouth Grunt
Knobbed Porgy
Pinfish
Black Grouper
and a few others I've yet to identify...

Fish (lost)

Stingray
Blacktip Shark
Bonefish (maybe...)

Fish (seen)

Sheepshead
Snook
Ballyhoo
Lemon shark
Nurse Shark
Bonnethead Shark
Permit (maybe)

Other stuff...

Iguanas & Geckos
Ospreys, Vultures and huge numbers of other raptors I can't identify.
More herons and egrets than you can shake a stick at.
Some very bolshy Pelicans
Frigatebirds
Turtles (briefly in the wild)
Manatee (even more briefly)
Dolphins (two different species I think)
Raccoons
and the Virginia Opossum (climbing trees in the garden).

Pretty good for a few weeks.
