Frank

Richard Ford is one of my favourite writers, and I particularly love his trilogy of Frank Bascombe novels – The Sportswriter, Independence Day and The Lay of the Land. The third book came out in 2007, and Ford said it would be the last one. I was sad to hear it, and I've been missing Frank – he's a wonderful, vividly real character. So I was thrilled to learn a couple of weeks ago that Ford had been inspired to write a new volume of long stories featuring Frank, and immediately pre-ordered it – too excited to wait for the paperback!
