Iron Tree

Ai Weiwei has a tree a very special iron tree on show at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park and most impressive it is too! It stands 6meters high and is made of 99 pieces cast in iron and interlocked with nuts and bolts.

Like most sculptures you are drawn to touch the cold strong metal. The light wasn't good but the rusty colour of the tree was so vibrant that it actually turned out well.

We made a day of it Shirley and I, having the Ai Weiwei psychological experience in the beautiful chapel, followed by a cosy coffee break. We then took the bus ride up to the Fiona Banner Wp Wp exhibition at the massive Longside Gallery. The onomatopoeic title Wp Wp Wp is the sound of the chinook blades which are rotating in a odd yet mesmerising fashion.

I like to watch people's reactions and eves drop on their reactions!

Finished off with a delicious late lunch to warm us up, as the weather had turned inclement.
