A visit to The Real Bothy on show at Kirkcaldy Art Gallery.

It is a replica of a basic Highland shelter. Devised by three artists, Claire Lamond, Andrew Lennie and Alan Grieve, it toured around four Fife communities in the summer of 2013. Local people were encouraged to drop in to share their memories and experiences.

It is obviously doing the rounds now as I have seen it before in February this year at the Cambo Institute near Kingsbarns. As well as reading the stories written inside the Bothy itself, you can also enjoy a number of other treats, including a short film and framed works inspired by people's memories.

The guy had just been checking the fire hadn't gone out.

A song about another hut.
