Friday Bike Rides Without Bikes no. 2

Today was the second in the series of Friday Bike Rides Without Bikes that Technophobe and I have embarked upon in two weeks. We had full intentions of getting out there this morning on our trusty velocipedes, but the weather was horrendous and the forecast was to clear the afternoon and maybe some sunshine.

So off we trundled in the car again, this time to a well-know hobbies and crafts store (other hobby and crafts stores are available, I'm sure). There was so much in there to choose from that we hardly chose anything in the end. There was stuff there that we definitely didn't realise we needed until we saw it.

After perusing for some considerable time and not buying a massive amount, we moved on to Packwood House (a NT property in Warwickshire) to have a bite of lunch and maybe see if there were any bliportunities. There were bucket loads! After a very tasty NT sandwich (triple wrapped for hygiene!) we went into the kitchen garden and also in some of the grounds and outside the house. We couldn't go into the house as it is guided tours only and we had missed the last one of the day, but it was fascinating all the same. The sun had come out by now, and if anything it was too bright!

This picture I took in the kitchen garden and it is a bird scarer made from a potato and some pheasant feathers (which were not as pretty as my Phil's feathers).

By the time we'd had a wander round and taken some photos (being very careful not to tread on the well-kept garden beds) we were by now too late to drive back home and don our fluorescent cycling gear, so we just made our way home gently, in the car.
