Poppies and mud

I took the afternoon off work as my sister is coming to stay for the weekend, and decided to pop to the Tower to catch the poppies before they all disappear. The volunteers are now hard at work removing them all (off with their heads and into boxes) and the ground has turned quite muddy in places after the rain this morning. Even so, it was still very moving when you take in the enormity of the number of poppies that are there and consider that they represented all the soldiers who died.

Anyway, I'm home with jamjar now, and it will soon be wine o'clock! The weekend starts here!
