Sea Buckthorn

Sea buckthorn growing in the sand dunes along the beach. Never seen it in Orkney, and don't remember seeing it when we were growing up here, but it is a striking shrub, covered with masses of berries.

Dad is rallying, the antibiotics are doing what they should and he is a bit brighter. He is so up and down, from morning to afternoon visit there can be a huge difference. He's having high protein drinks but this morning managed a whole bowl of porridge too.

Mostly he sleeps. He is warm and safe, the staff are so caring and gentle with him and he is not in any pain. He doesn't know who I am, or anyone else, but told me I'd never looked better! I sit and hold his hand, talk about the past and remember the old Dad . . .
