And the game of the day award goes to...

... the shiny new Loonacy. So much fun we played it three times straight off and won one each. It's a game where you have to accept the lack of strategy and embrace the anarchy.

Think of Snap. Then think of Snap with two different pictures per card, multiple discard piles and the brilliant chaos of no turn-taking. It's a bit like Dobble but without the unwieldy cards and frustrated peering at tiny graphics. It's far more accessible to six year old B than some of our other games. To be fair though she did tell her dad and I that "Daddy can't win [Fluxx] because he doesn't have the Radioactive Potato card". She was absolutely right, we'd both conveniently forgotten about that particular new rule card. Anyway, good times were had through a Sunday game day, even allowing for B's choices of Junior Monopoly Party Edition and Top Trumps Barbie. I think Loonacy will be good for adults too, especially after a shandy or two.
