Untold Story

During my walk today, I found a little tree planted in the shoulder of the road. As you can see, attached to the tree is a crucifix.

It is the custom in this area for families to make a shrine in remembrance of a loved one who has died in an accident on the road. Many of these shrines are elaborate with flowers and a cross.

This small tree is a simple and living shrine to somebody's loved one.

We won't know the story of the person or the accident.

It is private.
