Dulwich Picture Gallery

Splendid afternoon at Dulwich Picture Gallery. Went to see a superb exhibition of paintings and drawings by Emily Carr. This was the first UK exhibition devoted to the works of Emily Carr. The gallery is a small intimate space and being able to get close to the works of art made a big difference to appreciating them. Ms. Carr although an icon of Canadian art is still relatively unknown in the rest of the world. Well worth taking a look.
For all you architecture types..... The picture gallery was designed by Sir John Soane and opened in 1811 as the worlds first purpose built public gallery.
