Not a Bowl of Cherries

This cheery cherry-bedecked bowl, purchased at the farmers' market on Saturday, holds three paperwhite narcissus bulbs, inexorably pushing toward the ever-shorter and weaker sunlight as the Winter Solstice draws near.

There's a good chance the fragrant flowers will appear around the Solstice, or perhaps Christmas.

In any case, I enjoy this touch of fresh green and the ease of caring for this winter "garden"!
