Before school

The light on the stone and the leaves just after sunrise this morning was glorious but I kept getting distracted by the people. Standing in the same place for six minutes I saw a red-gloved delivery man hunched over a trolley he was carrying, two painters trying to break into the door just visible through the arch and dozens of schoolboys, creeping like snails unwillingly to school. Impossible just to blip the fiery leaves over the wall.
