Plough Breaker

It is only in grassland Africa where one can find this stunning, hardy deciduous shrublet, that produces brilliant scarlet flowers.

The Erythrina zeyheri is a strange plant, and most of it is under ground. Low growing shrub 300-600 mm in height. The plant has an enormous underground root stock, in which it stores food, hence the name: Plough Breaker.
