Bird

I have just spent ten minutes going through Birds of Vancouver trying to identify this bird. I think it is a sparrow but I am not sure. (This is my regular experience when trying to match a bird to it's entry in this book.

It has been a milder day today, with only a tiny bit of drizzle in the morning. We had the contractor come around and take a look at the small reno we need in the kitchen so that we can replace our fridge. We also talked to him about excavating some ponds on the property but our plans were too unformed for that conversation to bear any fruit.
