Horses Under Starlight

Jordan

Jordan has to go to the vets tomorrow. He has a sore leg and a limp.

"It was a day she never wanted to end. The sunlight warm on her skin, the water lapping gently at the edge of the lake. The deepest blue sky, the fluffiest white clouds, days like this so rare this summer. If she squeezed her eyes shut and her hands into fists and concentrated hard, maybe she could stop time. Stop the clock ticking. Stop this perfect moment from ever slipping away.
The day she fell in love with the place was the day she realised she had to leave."
