Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

A flower of some note

Cyclamen is a genus of plants containing 23 species, and belonging to the Primrose family. In the wild, their distribution is centred on the Mediterranean taking in parts of Europe, western Asia and North Africa.

This little beauty is a cultivar of Cyclamen persicum which grows wild in south western Turkey, the Hatay and Adana Provinces of southern Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, the Greek islands of Rhodes, Karpathos and Crete, Algeria and Tunisia.

I think that if, in a parallel Universe, I happened to be a designer of ladies' hats, then this would be a good starting point for a quite stunning creation!
