S, who is a paramedic with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service, and is one of the colleagues whom I supervise while she studies on the clinical education course in Leeds. I was observing her teach a group of doctors and nurses who are responsible for transporting very sick children all over the Region.

In the evening, S invited me to attend a "Night of Flight" - talks and eats - at the station. Humbling and fascinating. By the way, YAAS is a charity and it costs £11,000 per day to keep this £2millon chopper working for you.
