Man vs Mythical Metal Monster

It's been a while, so whilst Samantha was off washing babies at a nearby crown green bowling club in the legendary Camelot*, I headed off down to the Helix Park and along to catch up with the Kelpies.

I thought it'd be fairly quiet, but it seems sunset brings out the photographers hunting in packs. Looking around the place at times it was like some Anthony Gormley public art installation with multiple silhouettes of featureless photographers and their tripods dotted around all over the place, waiting for the proper dark to come and for the kelpies to properly glow. Pointless trying to find an angle that didn't have another snapper in so instead started to include them in the shots; there's only two in here, which was as near as I could get to photographer-free.

I'm pretty sure there's enough shots of Kelpies doing the rounds now that someone with the technical know-how and a fair bit of spare time could stitch together a fully immersive virtual tour of the sculptures. Still, first I've visited when they've been lit up, and another one to add to the personal collection.

* Baby shower for our niece at Camelon Bowling Club.
