Going Down In A Blaze of Glory!
After a really miserable day of rain and grey skies, the room suddenly began to light up and when I looked out of the window, there was the most incredible sunset. A welcome end to an otherwise dreary day.
As you will have seen from my blip yesterday, we had a bit of a drama on the M6 at Carlisle. The wheel bearing went on the trailer, so we pulled into a bus stop on the A69 and called the RAC. They came out but couldn't do anything, other than offer to take the trailer down south for us, when they had a truck going that way. In the meantime, Mr E managed to find an Ifor Williams dealer, only 5 miles from our location. They had closed at lunchtime and it was now 4.30 but we called them anyway. A young lady answered the phone and after hearing of our dilemma, persuaded her fiance to help. He came out with a big trailer, took ours to the workshop and put new wheel bearings on both wheels. What a life saver! A young couple that truly deserve our gratitude.
If they had not helped, we would have had to wait until Monday, which wouldn't have been fun with a broken trailer and two large dogs.
We've spent the day unpacking and looking at photographs of our holiday. I've taken 2300 and now I'm having regrets, as it's taking hours to go through and delete most of them.
