Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

New member of the family!

Son P’s family has been lobbying for a dog for a long time. Daughter-in-law, K, has been the keen one, looking at Vizslas —not too many around nearby and now that they made the decision, it seemed they had to wait for the next litter in Jan. But yesterday one of the breeders phoned and had a 10 week female come available so off they went this morning to a nearby town (after a rush stop to buy dog paraphenalia/ crate, bed etc.) We had to babysit Fiona as she was sick with a high fever last night and really couldn’t go out, but she perked up here just moments after the new puppy entered the house! Have to record this meeting but for any of the rest of the dog lovers, (and far away family!) there is a small set on flickr, that includes the first meeting with each of their 2 cats. Pretty impressive actually. Both were nervous. But no hissing or barking. Very civilized. The working name so far is “Maple sugar” for this really beautiful “golden rust” short haired pointer from Hungary. (her grandparents still live in Hungary) We had been there for 3 hours but left after the first puddle appeared on the living room floor! Good luck to them! I will love having a "granddog!" For limited amounts of time. Can't wait for that first visit to the island :-)
