Forever in the air

The birds on this mobile have been flying with me for over 27 years!

They're very delicate - made from mother of pearl - and I'm quite surprised they've lasted so long. The mother-of-pearl rainbows on another mobile bought at the same time - from a small gift shop in St. Davids whilst on holiday in Pembrokeshire - disintegrated several years ago.

The mobile is hanging in the living-room window. Through the window the trees in the garden next door, seen on a rather dull November afternoon. And at the bottom of the photo, the rather nice old iron railings separating the two gardens.
