You know things are bad when I'm reduced to blipping my dinner, but actually tonight's meal was a bit of a triumph, both to look at and to eat. It's one of Nigel Slater's (relatively) fast recipes, though because there are 100g of split peas in there I had to soak them for a bit. The other ingredients are tomatoes, a fried aubergine, an onion, cardamom seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, salt and pepper - and a cheeky couple of cooked sausages that were crying out to be eaten and which I sliced and added to the gloop. Top with a handful of coriander leaves and serve on brown basmati rice.
