Heavy Weather

Still somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, heading for Hawaii -- Rock and roll all night long! Heavy swells, high winds, and frequent squalls throughout the night didn't improve in the morning light. We woke to a cabin listing distinctly to port, so that we had to walk uphill to get to the loo! 45 knot sustained winds are making for some quite impressive wave action, and the rain squalls continue to make their appearance at regular intervals. Most of the outdoor decks have been closed to the passengers, and I suspect the liquor stores will be significantly diminished onboard by the end of the day.

Tomorrow, we will finally arrive in Nawiliwili, Hawaii on the island of Kauai. I'm looking forward to seeing a bit of terra firma after five days at sea.
